The Program kicked off at about 9:30am with an Introduction of the Dignitaries and Agbami Parties present. Afterwards a safety Moment was shared by Mr. Cosmos Okeke.
The Academic Director, Lagos Business School, Dr. Olayinka David-West gave the welcome remarks: My STEM Journey.
The Director, Star Deep Water Petroleum Limited. Mr. Richard Kennedy in his opening remarks appreciated the sponsors of the event, Agbami Parties and other stakeholders for ensuring the continuation of the STEM program and making it to hold.
The Theme for this yearâs symposium was on âTeaching STEM in the 21st Century: Current Trends, International Best Practices and Cross-Sector Actionâ to identify issues in Nigeriaâs Stem education reforms and ways to elevate it to a national priority.
Also, focus on equipping STEM teachers with the knowledge of global best practices in teaching STEM subjects and fostering cross sector collaboration to support STEM education in Nigeria.
Two of the Agbami Scholars (Beneficiaries), Mr. Nwanji Nwachukwu and Mr. Vincent Ajilo also gave a talk to encourage students to strive more.
Awards were given to the three best schools By Agbami Parties on their innovations and ideas which was judged by Mrs. Nike De Souza, Co-Founder Teach for Nigeria and Mrs. Chidinma Okereke, Director, FunLearn Enrichment Club.
Three STEM teachers were also recognized for their best practices in teaching STEM subjects.
The vote of thanks was done by Mr. Kabi Michael, Manager, PGPA Lagos.
