The virtual commissioning and handover of Model Classroom Block built and donated to Government and Science Technical College, Gbajimba, Benue State was held on Monday, 18 October 2021.
In attendance was the Governor of Benue State, His Excellency Samuel Ortom, Speaker of the House of Assembly, Mr Titus Uba, the state’s executive members, other members of Benue state House of Assembly, traditional rulers and other aides. The Governor and his aides were physically present at the facility. Also present were representatives of Famfa, Stardeep, Equinor, Prime 127 and NAPIMS.
The event kicked off at 11:00 am with the recitation of Nigeria’s national anthem. Ms Joy Emeghara (Stardeep) gave a safety briefing reminding all of the need to maintain a low profile due to the high level of insecurity in the nation. Mr Joseph Adeyemi (Stardeep) presented a virtual tour of the facility.
Ms Bunmi Lawson, Community Development, NAPIMS who represented NAPIMS Group General Manager, Bala Wunti mentioned that the Agbami partners will ensure sustainable growth of education in Nigeria through their various social investments. The Agbami partners in their various speeches underscored the importance of
education and their commitment to investing in education and healthcare delivery across Nigeria.
Speaking on behalf of the good people of Benue State and his government, the governor, His Excellency Samuel Ortom was grateful to the Agbami partners for constructing the model classroom in his constituency. He stated that the government and the community will ensure that the facility is preserved and make the best use of the facility.
He mentioned that there are about half a million internally displaced persons located in the community and that the government will encourage those that are willing and qualified to seize the opportunity and benefit from the Agbami partners’ gesture. The governor concluded that the educational facility is one of the best in the state.
The vote of thanks was given by Mr Esimoje Brikinn, General Manager, Policy, Government and Public Affairs (PGPA). He appreciated the cooperation of the state officials in the course of the execution of the project and enjoined them to put the facility to good use.
