Happy #WorldBookDay!
World Book Day is organized annually by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), to promote reading, publishing and copyright.
As part of our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), FAMFA Oil Limited in collaboration with the United for Education Foundation (U4E), a non-profit educational volunteer mobilization organization, organized a reading event for primary schools within Lagos State to mark the 2019 World Book Day in Nigeria which took place today, 7th March 2019 at Muson Center, Lagos.
This year’s event is themed ‘Share A Story’
At this event, we had guest readers who read from Story books carefully selected to stimulate the minds of the children.
The guest readers were Mrs. Olusola Momoh (Vice Chairman of Channels TV), Mrs. Juliet Ehimuan-Chiazor (Country Director, Google Nigeria), Mr. Nnamdi Okonkwo (CEO/MD, Fidelity Bank) and Mrs. Naza Alakija.
We also had a very interesting stage play by Grandma Wura Productions.
This event is aimed at encouraging a reading culture amongst public and private primary school pupils with an overall objective to inspire the children to understand the Nigerian culture and promote unity by sharing the same story.
